RS Bears defend Grandma Wendy's house from Mutant Cock Pirates!

Incident at Grandma Wendy's house.

There are a million stories in the Deep Woods. This is just one. The names have not been changed to protect the guilty.

It was a cold, grey morning when the call came in to the Bearracks. The Hard Boiled Gang had been spotted nearing Grandma Wendy's house. With no time to lose the crew grab their bear essentials and the hunt was on!

We had a Nemesis Now account.  Just as we got it, they stopped selling these-.  There's a stone that fits the roof, but I rather like this unbased tree.  I added the base and big rock, a bit of paint but not much was needed.

You need 6 counters for this marked yes & no.  I didn't think, but using scaps of masking tape on tiddly winks gave me one rough side.  Made for easy placing without compromise.

The Game 1. I took the Bears and got the initiative, leving Tony to handle the mutant cocks.  Tony did better from reaction than I did from actions!  See!  See!  The mighty Dodo comes!

One carrot-token per scenery item is placed upside down.  When the carrots are found them must be returned to the base line.

Flambear doesn't strike me as the cautious type, so he John Wayne'd down the road.

Dodo gets his head fried and dies.

Airmobile. the Cockatrice advances using cover.

Paddington checks the corpse and the counter.

Ted, covered by Yogi, gets the first carrots home.

Boo Boo yells "there's one down here!"

Paddington gets the second pile, things are going well-.

Cockatrice pounces on Boo Boo.

In a long run Huge Grant gets to Paddington and takes his head off!

Then he bends down & rips Flambear's heart out.

Pa decides to surrender!

Huge collars collected carrots.

Arny tries his luck.

Clucky gets lucky.

Ted tries to rally Pa.  He fails, Pa does a runner.

Cockatrice vs Yogi.

 Takes his head off.  There's a theme developing here.

Ted shoots the Cockatrice (my second shot of the game) and it goes down, then makes cover, chased by a close miss.

 Huge Grant attacks Ted whilst he's distracted.

And kills him.

 And so to game 2.  No, I'm not going to say it.  My turn to have the Bear behind and handle cocks and I get the initiative again, mentioned in dispatches.

Teamwork, carrots captured.  Proper job.

Eek!  Clucky is Cockolded!

Second to the boss - "Twiggy, I've got a job for you"  If Twiggy eats plants, is it a Vegevor?

Ted goes Bang!  But misses.  Cockatrice gets 1, so goes strategic.

Paddington gets lucky.

Biding time.

Huge Grant moves up on other flank.  Now I've got 'em cornered!

Ted moves in for the shot, knocks down the fowl beast.

Boo Boo, blade in hand, moves in for the kill.

Meanstwhile-  The Dodo is deaded by Ted!

Fistpump.

Huge goes for Boo Boo (putting him in cover from Ted).

First one in the belly, second one under the chin as the head comes down.  Huge Grant is gone!

Now the little chap sneaks up on Arny.   I'm aware that there are higher numbers of the dice, but they don't like me!

Stuck like  a barnyard bantam.

It took more than one mutant cock to change his name to Ripper Boo Boo.

And what makes it worse, he did it all with only 3!  My cocks droop in shame.

Excellent game.  The loot means you have to search the board, spreading the action out.  The scenario doesn't say remove it, but in this instance it made sense.
