OGAM Winter Olympics a not-quite-campaign.

"Whatever you do, don't look up"
Love OGAM. I've the opportunity to introduce this game to an old friend and possibly a small group. Excelsior.

I started with my original Olympics teams, made a few adjustments plus added Hephaistos and Hades for variety. Taking every opportunity to use the excellent Splintered Light miniatures and my skelly selection.

Game 1  Started with Hades and Ares.  No real reason.  Hades is new, Ares I'd changed.  If you haven't used a set of rules for a while there's "rules creep" and bad habits.  Trying not to pass these on.

Set up.  Tony took Ares and I won the toss.  Mentioning that in dispatches.  We skip a dice throw, defender sets scenery and goes second.

A handy chariot-corridor.

Right behind you lads.

Air mobile!

Forward the legions of Hades!

Ares troops poised.

Ares stomps my first unit.

Cunning plan, swamp the bastard!

Bugger.

Sergeant says "whatever you do, don't look up-"

Here they come!

Skirmishers go harpy hunting.  Error 1, 8 javelins not 6, no effect.

Achilles comes.

Meastwhile, the other chariots bounce off the spear!

The Harpy swoops in.

Hades uses tactics, sets about the other one.

With a draw, both die in a heroic manner as is good form.

"tother side cracks on.

Myrmidons get stuck in, initial success gets the Harpy to attack their flank.

Skirmishers sneak through the trees in sneaky manner.

Achilles is getting closer-.

"Right lads, tactically retire".

Ares looms at the Harpy.

Achilles gets stopped and turns it into a knockdown (error, should have been push back)

Hades swoops on Achilles and stomps him while he's down.  (second error, another pushback)

If I can't swarm Ares I'll do the Myrmidons.

I decide not to pursue.

My Harpy tries its free disengage, but gets 2.  Ares uses the one reaction to make her go squawk.

Ares starts to reduce my infantry into Myrmidon bite sized chunks.

Look, organisation!

Bugger.

Hades tactically swipes the javelins, who melt away like a liquidy thing.

A desparate attempt- with Ares in contact that's a +1 for outnumbered.  Didn't work, Hades got deaded.

Error 3, undead doesn't make morale tests.

So that was it, then.  Good game!  Smaller side with more punch won.
