1. Introducing Matt to the scenario. I have Bast defending against Anubis.
Set up.
The Game.
A bit of skirmishing kills a lioness. In this scenario you have to keep track of the dead, as the number of invocation dice alters. That, in turn, has a big impact on the gods.
Anubis is driven back by the shards shooting allowing Bast to stomp the undead horror.
This is - in go the beasts, down they go!
Getting in in the rear!
Effective shooting keeping Anubis at bay.
Not good---.
That's - unbalanced and dead!
With the legends go - so do the animals.
Anubis's archers are ground down.
Anubis clobbers the bothersome shard. For once Bast wins in combat!
Morale leaves 1 unit teetering on the edge!
Invoking like good 'uns, they get him back but the second one fails. That leaves him with a 2 dice activation! And one of them is a 1!
Comparative losses-- I re-did the shard bases with clear bases and a mix of UHU & superglue to give a field effect. She's BEHIND you!
And the field is hers.
Introducing the all-new God Anhur, God of War. I'll probably use him as a legend in his mums force. The size of this force is interesting, nice balance though! More like a 28mm game.
Game 2 Temple Under Siege.

Matt took the defender and placed a unit of 4 mortals in the temple.
I know - I've been busy and had an absolute SHIT day before, so no painting done. Bite me.
The colourful tents are from Brigade Models. More traditional Baueda.
Temple from Croms anvil, dunes from Terrain for Games.
I'm making extensive use of the new Lemurian range from Alternative armies to come up with - interesting - armies:

Quick aside. Entoyment had one of these posh teddy bear fur mats out and I couldn't resist trying it. Looks good, but hills placed underneath, the material stretches and sinks once weight added. Nice, but not for me.
Attack! Everything bounces off!
A quick turnover and it's Tony's time for action! We did the traditional thing of 1-4 with 5&6 on the preference. Tony rolled all at once and got a string of 1's.
Guards vs hippos - shot back with shooting.
The god, first timed out - bounces off. Can happen to anyone.
Here comes the big guy. They battle - and Sobek is beaten back!
The legends crash against the lesser's. First pushes them back. Second is a tie - one lesser dies and the legend is downed. The third comes crashing in, again a pushback. Sorry, white gesso does not for good photography make.Changeover - and - dead!
Morale - an absolute storm of failures!
Survivors. Well for now!
He still has enough to reach the beast and dispatch! Then, next initiative the lessers are ground down-.
Game 3 Temple. Tony turns up so it's a mere non-swapsies. I didn't take a set-up picture as it was similar to last time and me phone was charging. One thing I'd learnt last time - attacking good, getting away from edges better. Tony went for a legend rather than mortal unit.
Whacks 'im on the snout! The ignerminimoney! Now it begins---
Crash! Bang! Wallop! Holding their own!
Gerroff!
Nearly shoved off the board!
On the other side, crocs do well. Staying close to avoid shooting.
Big nasty rushes in, tied result - fails the roll.
But still- Gods will out!
Lo! Let us go forth!
One legend gone!
Shoot the hippo's! They look hungry!
Legend no,2 gone!
Turnover - but!Well, that's a line, almost.
Shoot! Stab!
And he's back - crunch, sends them reeling!
Tables turned! And there's no "4" to bring him back!
These 2 go, leaving the 3 archers to their fate.
Game 4
Return to sacred City. As time was pressing, I used a 2x2 board. Got to admit, prefer the 2x3 setup used before. But this made for a "tight" game, forcing Tony to be innovative and deploy some behind mine.
Mummy advances, shard shoots. The other contacted from behind.
No casualties yet, so both gods get an extra dice. Basic is black. 1 invocation in green and "city" blue. If 2 black it would have been turnover.
As is, 2 potential reactions for Anubis.
Sounds complicated but isn't.
Anubis gets one, moves forward. Bast uses 1 to get to the rear sneakers and the other for a +1.
Mummy wades into the Lioness archers, pushing them back. Them bones, them bones, them dry bones.
Oh no! A Shard is grabbed by the rim and destroyed!Another shard crumpled by Anubis!
Crump and crump again!
Now here's the scenario - casualties are against Bast so she loses dice and Anubis gains "the support of the city". It's in both their interests to rack up the casualties.
Meanstwhile the push & shove continues on the other flank.
Ganging up doesn't always work.
Darn, another one gone! Last legend so the cats go as well.
Relentless horror. Now the numbers are even--
Tally - save the hippo. Cats ran, so not dead.
Anubis gets a load - but swap. He goes like a good one and gets into contact. With only 3 - no cats to invoke - and she gives him one the wrong way!
Pushed back using that 1! But now out of contact with the archers.
They still manage to get into contact with a reaction. So she's down, and these go with her! With no "4" left that's game over. Anubis has the city!
