The setup:
On my right, trees and hydra advance.
Opening fight, Chiron vs hydra. On set up white dice mark drunk units. See above.
Advance tree feller! Rats. Note the movement tray to the left. Prototype you will see more of in preparation for Beach Head.
The hydra bounces attack after attack from the chariots, one going down in flames, but the centaur goes down hard.As do the tree fellers.
Pan and the Cyclops. The latter doggedly pursued the god, lobbing rocks at every opportunity. That's one of your metaphoric things, that is. Pan gives him the odd kick to make him keep his distance.Daaamn!
Stategic move. Would you like a big old god behind you?
Dogged persistence.
With the rumble of wheels, screams of warcry! And my clubbers clobber! Doesn't help that all the support are drunk.
Dionysus yells "Just go!"
Wham! With the "Tremble!" I got some out of the way but not enough. My tactical reserve on the hill had been transfixed as a "throw away" earlier (red dice) Now they're awed on top.
Meanstwhile on tuther flank the chariots and centaurs bounce of the tree.
All Dionysus can manage is +1, so unless Pan stays in contact combat is very, very risky. At those times a weaker god is best used as a facilitator and motivator.
Reserve fling off their awe and transfix, without help.
Slingers unawed. Could you resist this target?
A tactical, if risky opportunity. If Dionysus can stay in contact then the Cyclops can come in, outnumber. It could work-. Cyclops is a 3, tree is a 4 - so a bit more of a chance. Nope, bounced off, reeling away from a hoof in the gut.
OK, let's try that again! Plus drunk centaurs tangling with my clubbers. Party on!
A reaction and Pan's away, chase me! Chase me!Now he's well away, clobbering and transfixing my reserve as he goes by.
Having seen orf my clubbers (more of the surviving 3 next game) Centaurs chew through my javelins.
A fast-and-slow hunt, but which is the hunter & whom the prey is moot.
Slow & steady, the hydra sneaks up on the drunk centaurs.
Centaurs hit and bolt for the trees. Should there be rules for sobering up?
"Come back I've got you something!"
Aarrg! GGrrr! Rustlers!Mobbed!
"Here - Catch!" Cyclops lobs rock, rolls a 5, is C3 and has +1.= 8. Pan rolls a 1 & is a 4 =5. Difference of 3, Pan's gone!
I've a few units left to activate.
A fraught time, 3rd attempt is the charm. Up pops Pan.Just to prove it's possible. the hydra finally squashed under the cruel wheels of the oppressor.
Loom, loom! Zoom, zoom!
Pan does another loping run then a "Tremble".
But with that one he weeks terrible rewenge first.Attack of the killer shrubbery!
Bit of a grudge match.
Even gods!
Hah, back to me and 1 for Dionysus. So Pan's in contact. Time to run in with a broken bottle. Booted and bounced.
Right, next - darn!Cyclops clobbered to the deck!
Open the distance.
Chariot crushed, burst into flames!
Your turn-
Pan becomes a bully. Centaurs get hassled.
This Cyclops is a rock star. A long lob and the chariot is crushed with bits af flaming wreckage going everywhere!
Time for Dionysus to pitch in against the party ponies. Can he continue his stellar run? Um, no.
Pan is surrounded-.
Boo! and Pan shoved back.
Where did he go? He's behind you! Shove.
"Tremble" again! Clash n push back.
First he's down! And then he's up!
Note the remnant units to the left, these are the ones used in the next game.
Attack against the drunk Selenites goes bad.
Rats one. Clash of the Titans!
And then we had to leave it! I thought this would be a 2 hour then turn over game, but 4 hours is bit of a record. Dionysus has the advantage in mortals but its who recovers first. You choose!
