Winter Olympics 2) Hephaestus vs Hades

Entoyment is a great venue for these games. 

Coffee on tap (but not intravenous, yet) allows us to get 2 games in without rushing.

A bit of pre-practice and we don't need the rules or playsheet.

This concludes a mad week of gaming.

Now all I have to do is catch up with these posts!

Raise the dead. 1 action per turn, 1 mortal. Place on any table edge. Once 2, can activate.
Shadowform 1 action to become/revert shadow. Gains flying, immune ranged attacks by mortals. Melee by mortals -1 unless aiding god. Any casualties taken as recoil.

The Game.  I got Heph.  The sides look remarkably even-.



One javelin moves & initiative swaps.


Hades goes shadowform.


Storming!


I'm playing with 1 unit of javelins.  Twiddles thumbs.


Trouble with Heph is that he moves slow.  So by the time he gets anywhere, everone else has gone!


Nice formation!  How the duck am I going to break that up?


Temptation works.


Giant gets pushed back - he'll never live that down!



This is what we call a duckaster.  Over to me plus a reaction.  Nice.



A general melee develops.






Then the big fellow wades in!


He ties with my Heroes.  That means I lose 1 and he can turn his death into a push back by rolling o2 or over.  Nope.  Undead don't do morale---.


Perseus Gets A Job.  Go up there and beat them up!  Perseus fighting skeletons on a ruined temple.  That would make a great film!  Quick aside.  I started adding rubble to skeleton bases.  Here's the 2 looks.  Any preference?


Pop goes Hades!  Nice and safe there.


He heads back to the fray.


I prefer to "lay the dice".  The roll, C & pluses.


Hello, he's back!  Shoving my heroes rudely back, but that allows the Talos to connect with the infantry.





Being bull-headed.


Mortals destroy legend again-.


My heroes get ground down.


Meanstwhile, back where it all started my javelins get got.


Perseus is winning, and here comes Herp!



Hades goes cloudform.  Can the bull hold him until Herp gets there?


Now the Cyclops move.


Pushing the bull back (reversabull)  Hades slides off.


Undead vs automaton.  This is the only unit I've ever painted with identical poses.


Brow beaten bull!


Close!  Will he escape again?


Having destroyed the javelins, Perseus plows into the skeletons then gets bounced.



Yep, he's gone.  Hep takes his ire out on a poor, defenseless cyclops.



I'm pushing him back, but my numbers are getting thin.


Far flung flank.


At last Hep gets there!  Doh!




Outnumbered, Perseus goes down!



Hep is back and is peeved.


He pushes the horde back, and they clash again.


My automatons are being ground down.


The skellys come to the aid.



Hep is down again!


Fortunately,  those javelins had parted.  Hep pops up again and takes their tormentors tangentially.


Another cyclops is laid low.


Looking grim for my automatons.


Hades concentrates on getting rid of "4's".


Go Heroes!



Here comes Hades again, they clash and Hep goes down without a "4" to recall him.  Allas, the automatons do not prey.



So the next round so far is Aphrodite and Hades.
