OGAM Winter olympics 3, Hermes vs Artemis


Of Gods and Mortals is a superbly written set of rules for adult players.

Come up with a mechanism like this campaign to pit diverse gods and their followers against each other.

As with Hades & Hesperus, this was a "chase me" game.  Artemis keeps trying to get a shot, Hermes to have an effect while getting out of the way.

So, here's the players upon the stage.  Like the mat?  It's one of Entoyments free resources.

The Game.  Tony didn't get a setup shot.  I'd played a game with Matt Hay beforehand and we overran a bit.  Tony took Hermes.  Regular readers will understand that we're not "precious" on sides.  I organise them and Tony gets the pick.  Usually dice decides attacker.

Hermes gets a good roll, so dashes in, clobbers, dashes out.


Hermes was the first to move, so this is close to startup as it needs be.


Zoom!


In goes Euryale (I'd swapped for a Fury as I don't have a flying model yet)


Initiative swap, up comes Artemis, down goes Euryale.



Hermes in the one bit of scenery is near- invulnerable.


Here comes the lion!  Up pops Hermes and down goes lion-.




She is - so-close!


But 'ees buggered  'orf!


Now he's threatening the livestock.  These were great, stayed stood standing giving 'er dice.


This is a cocked dice.


Oh hell - Hydra!


Chariot hero gets swamped, ride bursts into flames.




Engaged units cannot pray or invoke.


He's behind you!  Hermes hits that poor unit of javelins again.  I don't think he likes pointy sticks.



He bounces to the infantry, but gets bounced.



Artemis has a quandary.  Support her Legends or keep after Hermes?



Artemis shoots Stheno.


Hydra mashes Medusa.



That's a long shot, she gets it, Hermes is down.


Some withdraw through morale, but nothing drastic.


And he's back.


And down again-.


Boys, you've made yourself targets!



They bounce the Hydra!


Taking the high ground.


Myspace!


Once again!



Now here's the rub.  Tony loses one unit able to invoke.  It's my initiative and I can charge up Artemis with 2 dice & still have the Hydra left.

    You've got a unit of 12 CO I thought max size was 8?
