Imagine this, dearest reader- a group of American Archeologist are at the site of a fallen stelae to the dread river god Duk, guardian of the fast flowing lower Nile and the Rivers of Heaven and Time.

The librarian, armed with an ancient and mystic tome is deciphering the words of mystic power.

Then she makes a mistake.  It can happen to anyone.

The Game.  Yes it's a variant of Ambush again.  The Librarian can stop the mummies in their tracks with a tech 15 roll (a correct reading)  Individual mummies can break free (react) or the evil influence of the god (initiative change).  I wasn't sure of the mummies, so I gave Tony the archeologists.

Here they are at the fatal moment of error!

As is their Modus Operandi, mummies crawl from the sand! Usual 5 per side roll D20 method of random distribution.

Mummy disarmed, help arrives.

And still they come.

It took 2 of them, but that one's gone.

Slightly steaming, the downed mummy pulls itself up and advances.

Hah revenge!

Taken by surprise, he's down!

The book! She is laid low by a blow to the head, then crawls away.  Im Duk Tep!

Slice, hack rend!

Miss bags her second.  That leaves me one-

Game 2, swap ends.  Tony gets the hot dice-.  a load end up in the same place with 3 activations.  I'm left jaffa cake eating in a state of antici------pation.

Swamped (duned?) by fast moving raging undead!  You could make a movie out of that?

Sneaking---

He's having a giraffe.  (laugh)

Time for the chap to step up to the mummy.  Hail of fire puts one down, step up, another shot, dead.  Next 2, more hail of fire blasts them down!

Another one goes for the book and is put down.  Is it all over?  "What?  I can't here you!"

It's gone quiet--.

Don't get too close! Librarian clocked on the head again-.

Revenge, again.  Never count your mummies until they are hatched.

The librarian makes a bid for safety, but it grabs her dress from behind and cuts her down, the swine.

This is the way we read this.  My whippy uses his whip to try and save Miss, but pulls the mummy down on her, the blade inflicting cruel damage to her head putter her out of action.  That leaves 2 alive-.

Well how cinematic is that?  Do you watch films like this?  Armour worked well for the mummies, who could stand a fair bit of fire.  I think these will return------.
