Rogue Stars Halloween Horror follow-on games

 No plan survives contact - 


Games?  I've planned 2.

Game 1.  "Get out of the van!"  6 Troops and 1 officer flee the wrecked van pursued by the ravening lions?  Can they reach the farm buildings?

This is a variation of Mission 17 "Make it to the ship alive".  Get from a to b.  Location is what it is, either 7 dense terrain or 13 farm.  Complication 11 "Surrounded by hostiles" fits perfectly.  Either the locals in the manor shooting or strays from elsewhere on the battlefield, ricochets.


Game 2.  Going Home.  The only way the lions are going to get home is by using the device located in the living room of the farm.  Can they get it?

A version of Mission 10 - "Hacking mission".   The lions need to gain and use the amulet to return to their reality.  Could be interesting if they'res anyone else in the room--.  
Location is definitely 8 "Defenders home (planet)"  giving the locals +1 on all morale rolls.
I'm going to continue with complication 11, as above, as the same conditions apply.

 Game 1

Although using the same layout, I expanded the scale as much as possible & added more detail:



I did the front of this -from of this Thomas the Tank Engine- model by applying superglue to the front then dipping in sand.  Top layer of hard as nails to smooth.  It will get more done.  A wagon would be good to transport troops.




Starting positions.



Tony took the Gurkha and decided that a fighting withdraw was not on the cards.  First activation, a reaction sends the guard leader into contact.  So change of plan blows her head off.


Then another guard gets put down.  The nearest on the roof gets knocked down and lands on her feet.



She gets to grips, wounds and knocks down her opponent - who gets up and applies bayonet.



Rolling well!


Now there's 2 guards either in the rear of, or on the roof of the van.  A Gurkha  goes a hunting and gets one.  A bit abstract, wot.
 

The male is shot down then dispatched with a bayonet through the eye.  It takes both leaders several goes to put the guard down.
 

The lioness leaps out and kills her tormentor.



Can she get another one?



So roll again.  With all the stress piled up- all fail.  So Tony rolls - what are the odds?




So ends game 1.  I Gurkha killed, 2 wounded.  But all the puddy tats were outclassed and put down.

Game 2


The kitchen.  The 2 wounded Gurkha, each laid on a table plus the sergeant, gamekeeper Von Alone and the 2 ladies with medical experience.



Oh shit - I think this is upside down.



The living room - parlor, front room.  Whatever.  I'm working on gaps represent doors, windows breaking in for the use of.


The New Kids On The Block.  Now obviously I'd done the rooms and left Tony to arrange the defenders whilst I tackled the twin tasks of making coffee and sorting out new characters based on the originals:

Three.  Ambidextrous and 2 zap pistols.


So we start.  Eek!



So the male trots up and knocks politely on the door.  Female 1 goes for a side window like some scrope doin' a proper blag.


A firefight ensues - despite close range, lots of misiisssisis.  The other 2 sneak in undetected.  I sould 'ave got elliphants - Gavin!
 

The Constable fends orf an attack.


Lion advances!  Gurkha!


That's - not good.


Being civvies all the reactions failed, and the one success saw the Gurkha laid low!



The leaders clash!  And!  A, bleep, 1!



Tony decides that the brute is dropped.  Probably all the broken glass.


The game keeper bags one.  Then the Constable!
 

A blaze of zapfire and Lt Rupert - and no-one cares.


So with the bulk of the defenders not yet engaged and the attack petered out we left it there.


In years going on, the house will burn down then be rebuilt as the headquarters of military unit run by the descendant of Leftford Campbell.  Deep in the cellar the artefact quietly throbs in the dark----.


But before that, the guests form the nucleus of an expedition into the dark heart of the steaming Cairo bizzars.






 

 The internal details are from my massive Battle Valor kickstarter order.  Washed then added to the pile!  Still, they've had their first outing.  There is more!


The nanny's cottage.




Constables. 




A mysterious alien throbbing artefact (a space station from long, long ago) dug up in Egypt is the perfect coffee table centre talking piece.


The piano means that attack will be unaccompanied.


Study and store room plus the back passage - unused.




I got this lovely field/ village base at Entoyment.  I'm using Blotz 20mm buildings throughout this.  I tend to mix with 15mm.  From memory of relatives tithe buildings from when I were a lad, that they were definitely 15mm.
