RS Southpaws vs Ying Tong and bugs.

I thought we'd try the Southpaws against another opponent.  The Ying Tong came to mind as they have blades and a dirty great mutated gorilla in power armour.

I can see them trying to muscle in on the Southpaw's operation.
The game mat is the reverse of the one used last week.  It's been used as a worktop so developing a nice patina.

I'm trying to get a distinct Happy Valley feel to these games.  Went with Secure area. Chemical depot.  Decided to try-
Infestation. Each player places 3 bugs not within 4” of any model. Each turnover each gets 3 actions. Any move within 2” triggers 3 reaction attack.

I can see this being a feature in this robust environment.
How do you like the bugs?  I can see these going for larger prey or carrion, ramming in trusting to armour to protect them.

I primed t-black then grey.  That's it.  I'm debating doing more, but other than finishing the base I think less is more?

Tony took his Southpaws and the initiative.  Bug hunting's good, but it gives your location away!



I get some reactions.

Got the image of the bug hanging on and the mutant failing to notice-.


Oh shit-.

Bullets ping off the armour.


Now it's the turn of the support weapon to move in-.


Dash in, shoot, get out.  You don't want to get tooooo close-.


But E runs into the rest of mine and pays the price.


One to marksman Vin.



For once the Southpaws are the ones dashed upon.



Get to cover-



Turnover and the bugs move - one smells blood-.



The support weapon barks- a very good shot to the head defeats the armour.  The mutant is down- and Uni cannot get out of the way, gets bashed in the chest.


Turnover again, bugs menace.





A clash!



Bodies n bugs.


The Southpaws regroup.


Bugs attack.  Never turn your back-.


The boss saves the day.





Damn bugs get everywhere.


Clear!


Slowly, slowly, catchee monkey-.  The boss goes down, ending resistance.  Southpaw win-.



Game 2.  The scenario calls for a 1 hour duration, but as it was obvious we'd get a double game in.  We normally start off- table, so putting both on a small board gets the game off to a fast start.

Same setup.  I get the initiative.








Vin again-.


One down-.



Bug attacks!  He's down!



Here it comes-.



Mutant rakes with hail of fire the cluster getting poor results.



Just to be fair, a bur attacks Vin.


Poor Vin gone.


Grub up!


I think they're getting the taste-.



Not too close!



The mutant is soooo close to my leader.  Time to go-.




I'm feeling hemmed in!


One gone-.


Backup provides dash!


The way we figure it, he runs around the corner onto the gun-blade, taking it in the chest.


Big fella goes in, but the trooper just keeps dodging as seen in all the best movies.



Support comes in, a thrashing whirr of a melee, but indecisive!



Support for the other side.


The boss goes down and the Tong morale collapses.  Soon, only the mutant is left, surrounded by Southpaws--.

Excellent game.  Bugs worked, the power armour was a real threat.
