RS Southpaws in a world of wet revolting natives

This is the last that has developed into an interesting little mini-series.  It's got me thinking about VSF Venus.  Swamps steaming, big dino's wading.  Natives revolting.

Back to today.  Interesting how many wargames deal with the effects of colonialism.

If you break this one down it's a colonial power attacking natives, seeking to destroy their homes.
These are Alternative Armies superb Orc village.
If you want to do this from scratch, you could use https://www.alternative-armies.com/collections/15mm-shm-and-star-vikings-ranges/products/shm44-nessite-alien-creature

Squad support U Fast, Marksman2, Reactive, Veteran, Weaponmaster 30 Total 44
Kevlar (2Torso) 6
Flamer (5) Scorching, Energy, 2 hand 8

I took the locals and placed them randomly.  Easiest way, each edge numbered 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20.  Roll clockwise then reroll counterclockwise.  The local's positioned at the intersection.

As the attacker Tony's Southpaws have the initiative & moves in.

My first attack!

Success!  No scarper back into the loving embrace of the swamp.

The hunter hunted by the pack.

Ah but look, that's the support weapon-

Flame bursts forth first and the first dwelling smoulders.

This calls for strategy.  Do the unexpected.  With slow, steady pace, arms outstretched--

Woof!  Nuke that treeline!

You have to use your imagination and see the nostrils and eyes just above the dark water.  Looking, calculating-.

Still sneaking, sneaking-.

Is that a splash?

The net bearer and friend edge closer.

The flamer coughs again and the male is caught in its blast, his back burned.

Distracted, the southpaw gets caught and killed!

Exhausted by his time out of water, the male tries to hide.

But hiding from a flamer isn't an option and he gets battered and deep fried.

Regroup and assess.

Pick on the one at the back- but it didn't do so well!

The ambush is caught, a desperate battle ensues!

One down but not out-.

She's up again, the Sergeant rushes in to help.

Southpaw victory?  Can they consolidate?

She's up again!  Wounded, outclassed, she's not giving up!

Her persistence pays off! She takes her opponent down!  But the net bearer is gone as well-.

A new trooper rushes in a bit too fast, and loses his face to her crunching jaws.  That's 2 to her-.

Medical support would be good-

The sergeant makes a tactical withdraw to send in the support trooper.

He adds another to his score, then they make a tactical retreat.  There's still a wounded male and a fresh female out there somewhere.  The terrains their advantage, tech the Southpaws--.

Excellent fight.  You'd think the Southpaws would have a cakewalk, but it was a hard fought, entertaining game.
