RS The Hunter becomes the Hunted

Oh my gossips!  I come to Praise Rogue Stars, not to change it.

I've a mercurial mind and more time on me hands than most.  So I'm taking this time (whilst I try my hand at building larp stuff to explore a few new avenues.

Noted before that this game plays like a role playing game.  So, what's missing?  The random encounter?  The location and complications table do an excellent job.  But here's a bit more.

End Game.  We have a 4 hour gaming window based on local parking.  The area I live is all council housing, so 1 car per 10 households is the provision.  On road stops at 6pm, 1 hour before that.
Often our games allow for a turnover.  But the odd game leaves us an hour to watch stuff on youtube-.

The game ends.  What happens?  Often the emergency services would turn up.  If in the wild local scavengers.  Repair bots.  Irate locals/workers. News crew.  (we did this pirate thing in a local pub, guns going off- then we looked up and every gull in the area was zeroing in on us.  Very Hitchcock)  So if you're geared up, say half remaining points of bother turning up.  This might lead into the next game.  One of yours gets nabbed by the cops and you need to get them back.

Lets try a hunt. Who's hunting who is a moot point. Defender chooses and deploys on an edge. Attacker can enter by any other edge.

These are from Brigade - an ususual source, as they mostly do vehicles.  There's a nice deer-like animal I must get-.  Palaeolithic diet anyone?  Not that happy with them, arms don't show up.  Needs stripes.  The foilage is pure recycled green tea.

The Game.  Now, here's the thing.  I had 8.  Tony asked for letters on bases.  As he had the initiative he started as I got to work, handing them over once done.  So all of a sudden, I'm facing 8!  I advance mightily by reaction.

Tony has a good knowledge of animal behaviour and applies.

My leader advances, towards the visible.

Sneaking.

The girlfriend had a strop (3 fails)  that a beastie takes advantage of.  Dashes in, attacks and darts off.

Watching and waiting.

Clever girl!

Pounces, ruins an arm.  Tempting to think of  her running off with the crossbow in the mouth.

Sneak, pounce, run.

Help arrives.

Wait for me!

Chased away by a bolt.

Z gets shot and wounded.  The party starts to track the beast.

The head start to move forward.

Pounce!

But wounded, takes a bolt (in reaction) and she falls at their feet.

Don't turn-.

SOP.

Followed by the next one.

All the crossbow together.  One dead, one mashed arm one healthy.  He starts dragging the corps backwards.

W fails to get far enough away and gets a crossbow bolt through the back of the head.

Z isn't finished yet, needs finishing off.

Which allows-

Takes on 2, gets bashed down but manages to get away!

Threatening-.

The pack closes in-.

Picking out the weakest.

Keep the others busy.

But this prey has long teeth-.

That was different!  Very enjoyable game.  Hunting needlers or more modern military weapons would have been more effective, particularly as they don't need reloading.  Well worth the trouble-.
