Flying Lead Grav vehicles and Power armour 1 Clash of Power Armour

Flying Lead isn't a SF ruleset.  It isn't designed for all-vehicle combat.  Yet here small vehicles - for such is power armour, clash mightily.  In my first games I used about 800-1,000 points.  Going up a bit.

Some of you might say "I can use Rogue Stars."  True, the very powerful suits bristling with weapons and crewed by veterans would be very expensive.

I'm splitting this roughly in 2.  In my first games I used about 800-1,000 points.  Going up a bit.

Power Armour are by Brigade, not GZG.  Neo Daleks by Khurasan.  Buildings & roads by Terrains4Games & scatter (see below) by The Scene.

The game. I had thought that this would be a simple, quick game with half time swapsies.
As it was we just about finished in our 4-hour slot imposed by local parking.
And, well, we did take a lot of pics held up by my shaking hand.

I took the UN and the initiative. My leader got one out of 3, so he could move a long.
As all are vehicles, any not activated can then move a medium. All can move & shoot, we
give these and reaction shooting the same minus as overwatch. My point man gets a reaction
and advances. If we'd knuckled down to it this could be a quick game.

Pushed on by the Black Daleks they advance.

Contact forward!  When a team is group activated I decided to do one action each rather than all with one once contact was close.  The dice indicates this point has 2 action left.

Which is used for an aimed shot that stuns the Dalek.

The others maneuver into position.  These chaps don't have the flight packs of non-urban model suits but a Short leap/climb makes sense.

The contact stalls the Dalek advance while it is analysed.

Lead Dalek reboots.

Ad Vance!

Return fire, also a stun.

Gatling opens up.  3 reactions.  Fire left, kills lead Black top!  Fires right at other lead Dalek, the building and its armour saves it.  Drops into cover.  Wouldn't you?

Hard cover good!

Lead Dalek stunned again - that's 3 hits.

Meanstwhile other team members have been quietly sneaking into position.

How not to roll dice- not mine for a change!

One blacktop now has to do the job of two, trying to force his drones forward.

The lead Dalek finally succumbs, took 5 hits!

Y pack grenade goes adrift to no effect.

Trooper goes on overwatch,  "wait to you see the glint in their eye stalks"

A shot from the launcher also misses.

A bit close--

Overwatch takes out the first Dalek in the pack.

My leader retreats behind the old water tank, hoping it will confuse sensors.

Under multiple attacks the launcher goes down.

Another trooper stunned.

The stunned trooper recovers, and with the leader make a fighting not advance regroup move.

Yellow markers used for completed activations again.

Partially obscured shot stopped by armour.  I'm not listing every one or doing this would take longer than the game!

Everyone is now running around the same building, getting dizzy.

The one trapped in the building is getting some attention-

He takes out the first one to spot him-

That stirs the nest---

Only one thing for it - drop!  Suits might be all - powerful but there's still a frail human in there - a fall and stun going "Owwww!"

One Dalek slides into the building---

Head them off at the pass!

Top level central building.

A long shot results in a stun.

The UN are all the way back--

Through a window, darkly--

Now it's getting serious one of each down!

Black top ascends to a commanding position.

2 Daleks turn the corner

Loneliness of command.

Another Dalek down.

And another

Now a trooper.

Second one for the Dalek in the ruin.

But revenge happens.

Shootout!  One trooper takes on 2 Daleks and win - this was the crucial fight.

That leaves the black top Dalek.

The vehicle on vehicle direct fire is a bit slow.  You roll once for effectiveness that adjusts the strikes anti armour effect roll.  In the past we've been lazy and treated vehicle on vehicle as a normal shooting, just a bit more so.  Both work.

We thoroughly enjoyed that and will revisit, soon as here comes no.2!

I bought some on The Scene's excellent bits during lockdown.
As usual, I did a bit of painting before putting away. Now I've done a bit more.
