OGAM Ares Vs Loki!

OGAM is like the Comfy Chair. We don't normally mix pantheons,

although we have matched like vs like before.

I bought both Egyptian and Norse during the lockdown.

Loki is the only one that doesn't have mortals - OK,

I've used Greek undead as they were the first I found. Go forth.

Teleportation device?

I'm still having problems with formatting and now line wrapping. So annoying!

A quick shout out to SHQ. Here's a nice range of gods. I'm using their Mars and boar as

Ares 'cos my normal model is in my Entoyment locker, guarded by plague zombies.

I love the Loki, has that "Wormtongue" vibe.

Traitorous strike +2 free hacks 

Stealth as long as adjacent to cover, cannot be shot at.

Transfix  1+ action, LOS within Long.  Target Q test 3 dice, must equal no. actions use.  Takes 2 actions to remove.

Teleportation 1 action to move anywhere.  If in combat, enemy gets free hack

Ambusher  +2 bonus

Trickster during own turn, cause reroll any other dice, must be announced.

The Game. Damn that Loki is unstoppable! The mix of teleport & ambusher is lethal.

Ares really only got a look in with reactions. Ares is a 5, Loki a 2, +2 ambush, +3 strike

and/or outnumbering.

Initial setup.  Loki's lot take up a lorra lorra room.

First move, the wall's closing in!

Loki is conspicuous by his absence. 

Come on if you think you're 'ard enough!

  

Decent dice!  Black are Ares 3 normal, other 2 are from invoking unit.

A bit of support doesn't hurt either!

Clash of Legends!

One all-  

Drat!

The plan was to engage with Ares then charge downhill with the javelins to entice Loki out.  Didn't work.

But he swooped (teleported on a reaction) on my mortals well out of move range-.

Get these out of the way first-.

Ouch!  But they held. Loki's still in contact so hitting him with a legend, equal numbers & he's no plusses.

Difficult, but it could have been a contender.

Bang!  Wallop!  Pow!

Not the way to do it!  A legend she's a 3.  So she just gets to hit.  No plus, then the 2 fails means a swap.

She's lucky and only gets 2 push backs.  Loki does not follow up-.

Now it's on to the Troll Elite.

Now she's gone, and Loki moves to a new group of mortals.

The Elites decide to try a Legend rather than keep facing Ares.

Pointy sticks now.  'ee don't arf get around!

The remaining Elite flees, leaving this hero free to support the other spear faced with trolls ordinair.

Ahah!  New target within reach!

The Trolls are pushed back into the javelins on the hill!  I think there was a song about that-.

Another traitorous teleportation!  Ares is down!

I lose some spent units to morale, but could be worse.

He's back - stacked- runs like Hel - draw, that means both troll units are Awed (marked with blue dice)!  'cos mine went back, they aren't touched.

Charioteer dashes in to get some of that +3 goodness.

Reduced by morale, they stumble back.

Hello, we're back!

Crump!  Rewenge!

Wolves shrink back, but that's it.  Undead, his powerhouse, go "and?"

Pop & he's back.

Slowly- 

Picking on the ones at the back- he gets pushed back!

Ares gets good rolls & runs most of 'em off.

Down again!  All trolls now gone.  It was a bridge too far.

Back with the wolves, hiding again.

Now I target the undead with everything.  A last fling of the wosname.

Morale of this story.  If you're huge and made of ice and wearing a skirt, don't pick on young ladies with pointy sticks.

Crunch - again!

Second strike and they go.

Ow!

Stomped! 

I now have 4 archers, 1 legend, 1 god.  Sorted!

The last battle- Loki still has his undead dice generator, so Ares dies for the final time!
