OAAH. Trojans and Amazons vs Hades undead

More pre-OGAM Winter Olympics mix & match.

Unlike the first 2, Hades hordes come from a wide variety of suppliers and lots of mix n matching!







Bulk is Alternative Armies.  I went a bit mad, adding extra bits to make tower shields.  I also "roughed" some up to make generics that you'll see as everything from Achaeans to Scottish chiltrons.  

Cavalry came all axe armed, so I arm-swapped with spearmen.  new unit of axemen, beefed up with Splintered Light beauties.



Love the chariots, keep getting more.  I got the Irregular one out of curiosity, swapped horses with an Alternative Armies.  The single charioteer is the top half of an RPE beastman standard.  More to come!

Needs a bit of inking, washes, contrast sort of thing.







Hades.  ALL this time off, lying around with festive funk then the lurgi-.  you'd think I'd be bothered to point them, but oh no-.  And this lot is mostly lifted from my Halloween game.

And from last week, plus a couple of units that didn't make the grade.  I swapped out attached archers for javelins.

The Game.  Ramped it up to 11/12 a side.  We could go all out for 15.  The other hand, we did one game.  So- 10ish and 2 games, 11-15 one game.

Amazons are more colourful,  Trojans darker, more uniform.  Difficult to see such detail when they're right under your nose.

But the victory was short lived, crushed under the constructs tootsies.

Sometimes this game can feel like chess- blocking moves, layers & depth.  Then developing a wave of moves & combats.


Can you imagine it?  Girlies running behind you with their sharp little sticks--.


He won!

I had this plan, work the nasty around the back and hit the general.



Seems a little one-sided-.



So hit the small unit first!


Exchange of missiles.


Combat.  So-  I do very, very badly.  Mine have pointy stick envy.  I kill 1, so lose the combat as the girls kill 2.  But they melt. 


Now its my turn to get rolled up.




Now the bright bronze bites!








The big nasty puts the odds in my favour.  IF I can get them to work together.


That rag-tag collection gets hoovered.


Hang on, I'm outnumbered!


Never underestimate massed javelins.  The axe unit goes in.




Time for Spot.


As per last week, we moved attached skirmishers with unit.  Here they're peeled of to counter Spot.


My general and rabble still at the back.  Tony has positioned his cavalry well.


Go!  Aarse!  They're Q4- fail and turnover.


Heavy javelin go in against their counterparts and get cheesed!




Spot goes in on reaction!  He dies, but the general is down to 1 life.  Tony was a bit - with his spear.



Cavalry hit my rabble and come off poorly!



Having missed out, the spear chop up my axemen.



Hah!  We have you now!



The game has turned 90*


I need to get that damn monster moving.  Airmobile!


Spear move towards enemy  general, action and reaction and they crunch!



Um-.  The chase is on!


Monsters- javelins- never a good outcome!

Good game!  Plenty of time as we only got one in.

    Your undead look great and they seem to have served you well in the battle that followed.
