RS Mars - Battle Royale betwix Minge the Merciless and Wang the Destroyer

Rogue Stars isn't a VSF set of rules, but it's handled these Martians just as easily as the recent Daleks and Morvellans.  No need for extra rules, sheets, dice, counters or magazine articles.  I did use our in-house adaptation of armour for its "earlier" equivalent.  but this worked well.

The great Unattended University of Mars is not well documented.  The first rule of attending the Unintended is that you were never there and have lots of witnesses who were also not there with you.

It is fair to say that for every chap who comes away with the feelings of fraternity and goodwill towards the fellow students at least 5 others depart bearing their fellows and the world an unrequited hatred and harbor a burning lust for revenge, power and an invite to all reunions and parties in general.

There is also the attached College of Harme that specialises in turning out chartered accountant/grand viziers in waiting, technical support staff and dental hygienists without which the magical arts cannot strive.

Good range of figures here:
Alternative Army Yeti as white ape.
Minge. Martian Empires with a Splintered Light Minge.
Wang.  Splintered Light dark elves with a Martian Empires Wang.

Here we have such a grudge match, both trying to take over the Tower of the late Hruuuunggg who had the misfortune to be consumed as an after dental hygenist (office on the ground floor) snack by an itinerant White Ape who was merely passing through.  The morale of this tale is, if you hear the down stairs tenant being dismembered and eaten in a particularly noisy fashion- don't complain about the noise and the overwhelming smell of mouth rinse being used as a dressing.

The Game.  Tony decided to take on Minge, leaving me to handle Wang.  For once, the dice were with me and Wang and his forces had an early spurt.

My hero got a firm grip at the base of the tower.

But Minge's hero took the high ground.

Wang used his levitation to ascend to the very tip of the tower.  Actually, that was a bad move- I never got rid of the accumulated pins.

Minge moves up with his hero.  Yes it's a mess.

My forces are (mostly) assembled around the tower, but Minge has yet to get warmed up and bring most into play-.

What is this!?  Minge takes control of (my) C and Brown Base is cruelly taken from behind!  Oh cruel and treacherous Minge!

Minge's swordsman proves to be unreliable-

A showdown, Wang descends to Minge's level!  Electricity throbs and pulses around the combatants!

Remorselessly, the controlled C ascends to engage Wang.

He is chased by my hero.

Hero on hero clash!  Mine loses an arm and sword-

Hah!  Minge is down before the mighty Wang! Taken by surprise by a lucky long shot.  Control of C is lost!

My hero is down, his other sword gone (he never got a stroke in) and pummelled (pinned) into submission.

C attacks the (Minge) hero from above (to protect Wang) and lays him low.

Finally Minge gets a shooter up, but he loses to my inferior (pistol) crossbow.

Oh SO close! One quick thrust, one shot bolt-! Minge is up, strikes down Wang with a mindbolt and kinetically strangles D.

C is after revenge and lunges for Minge- but another fatal strangle!  My forces are spent!  After my initial thrust against Minge has crested the rise.

And now Minge finally gets all of force on the board- which signals the return of the beast.  Dice for location and direction-.  An unwavering course for the tower entrance and my poor H.

He put up a good fight, but was somewhat outclassed.

That was a good game!  What?
