Flying Lead Light Clash of Dalek Armour!


I have new toys- plus some old ones.  Way, way back when we started playtesting  Harder Than Steel.  I had more money.  Postage from the US was not so stupid, so I did at least 1 £25 order per month.

That payed off, lots of Exterminators and other goodies.

Now-  all those years ago.  Being used!

The game.  It's too bloody HOT (and humid) for too much rational thought.  So this is a simple ambush.  I took the Rebels and Tony the Imperialists.  Tony won the initiative and set up an L shaped ambush.

This was in 3 parts.  The forward block.


Rear (ish) punch.


The side hammer.


The SLAM vehicle takes the high ground.


Here they come.



Attempting to drawl the rebels into the killing zone.


The IFV gets hit, forced back.


Get 'em out now!  Snipers debus from the close support.


Infantry pour from the IFV.


Oops, 2 snipers, not sniper & support.  Too late now--.


Get in close, behind cover.  I don't have a shot!


Close support is up, brews up the Transolar but gets a retire hit from the other.



That HW took ebverything I could throw at it and it's still standing - or sinking in the malted, glowing ground--.  The IFV goes up & back.



The infantry try their luck, which is not good enough-.


Moving up-.


Now the infantry & their Dalek get mown down.



The big gun starts hunting my IFV.


Lining up-.


The Transolar is pushed back but the Close support gets a lot of hits, gets pushed back & stalled.  


That leaves the remaining infantry to the mercy of the HW.







Taking the risk that my vehicle isn't coming back on line soon, the HW goes after the sniper team and lays down hell.


My IFV is preparing-.  Getting a reaction would be nice--.


Wosname vs Thingy.  Get into close range and open up-.  Close support is down and out!



At last it's back to me - and I get 3 actions.  3 individual moves & shoots.  I try and hit the big gun HW but don't get a kill.



The gun shoots, straight up at close range.  A kill!





I really wanted to see how this one was like in action, but it didn't move all game.  Compare that to Green Dalek F in the last 2 games.



I strive to get the right FEEL for the game.  Who wins & loses is academic.  This felt right.

And the morale is, if you want to do it, get the right toys.  The right rules and opponent will come along.
