Xenos Rampant. Hammers Slammers and Stompy Walkers.

Once again Matt Hay steps up to the plate and comes up trumps.  Can we still use that?  We need a new phrase!  Set phrasers to stun!

Matt blames me for getting him into Hammers Slammers in particular and 15mm SF in general.  He was well into Gruntz back in the day as well as a pioneer of Slammers into 15mm.  Demo games equal superb scenery.

As last week I spent the time playing rather than snapping.  But I'm getting used to my new phone camera.  Very hot and Very humid!  One of those weeks if you actually have a wee you post it on yer media.

Can you translate the Slammers into Xenos? Do you know the books?  The Slammers are the regimental MP's.  SMG's rather than rifles and old style combat cars.  This lot works out 30 odd points.

Slightly less quality.  MBT & 2 "better" APC's,  jeeps.

I had the mice and proceeded with caution.

I have the drop it seems- I got most of the initiatives.

APC, jeep and combat car exchange blows.  Dice represent lives left.

Infantry debus and attack my Fireflies.  Clever chap, Mr Drake, he came up combat drones before they were ever invented.

Jeeps taking punishment.

I'm feeling a bit harassed.  I've been trying to preserve my infantry.  Wrong move.

Bold move with the Fireflies and jeep tries to ambush their APC.

Everyone's suffering!

But my jeep vs APC cunning plan came off as a retreat and below half--.

NOW I'm hurting- and retreating

I had a jeep, and a flank.

But I'm pounding, the tank - heaviest thing on the board is glowing.

It's a start- half gone!

Shame I didn't have the mortar variant.

I got my command team off.  OH! The paperwork and docking from pay!

Stompy Robots.  Essentially vehicles, some technicals, some not.  This was done "on the fly" but Matt seemed happy with the results.  Not my area of expertise, so I'm hoping Matt will add something in the comments.

Pendraken 10mm for 15+mm, Brigade models - Xenos Rampant - Germy rules!

My recent game  https://unitrecon.blogspot.com/2024/12/dragon-rampant-goes-hollywood.html got me thinking that the aliens need more support weapons.

I've been ill and used this down-and-ouch time to work on my Time Wars project.  Plus I'm finding stuff from the well-before-time.

The little shown on the TV series are not very impressive:

Simple conjecture - point defence weapons capable of being delivered via not that big transport systems.  I turned to the latest Pendraken releases as one range in particular had the right look.  They're crisp, deep cut and a pleasure to paint!

I'm looking unmanned (unkaked?) systems.  I got one AA, 2 power plant vehicles 2 light, 2 heavy artillery.

FYI all are based on Floovian Hoobles/UK 2p. AA battery for size.

Next up we have old skool Pendraken Bugs - get them before they go!  And yes, the tripods and aliens work well in 15mm.  https://www.pendraken.co.uk/old-sci-fi-ranges

Also by Germy Brigade's bio's now re-released!  I used both the 15mm and 6mm ranges.https://brigademodels.co.uk/product-category/15mm-sf/cimexians/  - and yes, they have the brain bug!

I've done a quick repaint job, now I need to rebase and complete.

Brigade VTol.  Mine are old castings, but I don't think there's a difference.
