Dragon and/or Xenos Rampant, Rogue Stars? Doing Dr Who's greatest adventure x 4.

Dearest reader, I have a mercurial mind that needs little prompting.  So when a post such as this pops up - it does fizz like a fizzy thing wot goes fizz.  (OK, I could think of nothing either clear or not insulting, or both)

Please read, there will be a test:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1IJWz8x8zA

We have:

An Island.

Army (not navy?), base.

Fishing village

Nasty crabby mutants or aliens

Meddling Doctor.

That sets the scene.  It doesn't take much imagination to see that you can run this in virtually any time period.  You might have to move the island away from the British Isles.

A year or so ago we had a formula:  big games at Entoyment then smaller games on a Sunday.  Lots have changed since then, but a small campaign split between larger and smaller games would seem ideal. "I need a live sample!"

This is my (immediate) list but the Bronze Age Mediterranean does call-----.

Circe's island with a Sea Peoples colony has a minor dispute with Poseidon?  An Egyptian god?

Viking/Normans/Medievals who are probably not that popular with the locals.  My Poole In Flames terrain would fit perfectly!

Age of Piracy.  Pirates and/or soldiers get crabs!

Cold War.  A listening station, possibly an old WW2 radar base.  Air/sea rescue base?  Nuclear or chemical waste contamination is the regular cause.

Ultra modern.  I'm trying to think of an excuse.  Could there have been an incident that provoked the restoration of an old base?

Several candidates in the 28mm SF selection.  I like the scorpion bug!  https://www.irregularminiatures.co.uk/

Khurasan is the way to go for our American ex's.  Love the Spork.

CD based scenery update. Under the boardwalk.

It's been a while, but - you know.

Way back in   https://unitrecon.blogspot.com/2015/04/cutting-cds-and-basing-walkers-quick.html

Still a CD.  edged black and a thick black wash in the middle to make the shadow and careful white highlights before adding vehicle.

Basing stuff on CD's is common.  I've had this idea brewing for some time, then I was given a small pile of CD's and Hard as Nails.  Perfect.  I had these 28mm Blotz fence bits left as I used the support for Japanese village fencing.  I'd used them before as duck boards in trenches.

A coat of the hard as nails, scrap card across the holes.  Left to dry.  That's the hint, allow to dry!

I used another CD to mark the curves and strong scissors to cot.  I'm sure most of you would be neater.

A bit of time post doctors appointment spent at Entoyment.  More hard as nails, of course.

Note you can still see some of the cardboard - this was not a thick coat.

I made a shell crater.

I found this colour in Neo Wilco's.  I like the cover!

I was going to use my favourite antelope Brown ink on the walkway, but a simple wash has done a good job.  Main advantage of a CD - it doesn't care about getting soaked.

Last process, although I might touch up the odd white spot.  I added a scrape of No More Nails clear.  You can get it on Amazon.  This was the costly bit, about 50p?

Note that by the time I'd finished, the first was already drying.  This stuff has a rather nice, fresh vinegar smell. that went after 20 minutes.

The next morning.  Most had dried, leaving in a window will cure completely.

Uses:  Cratered areas for Quar.  Zenus and Paleo diet marshland causeways.  I'm sure they'll be more.  I played around with some stuff I had at hand, temu clumps and
