Xmas Wars Claiming limited resources. Twice.

While the rest of the world moved on to renewable energy only one nation still used fossil fuels.

The raw ingredients of plastic toys remain buried in remote locations.

The hint is, if you are have to pay stupid prices and fight long wars to get the stuff, try funding another technology

Easiest was to make the explosive bits the ones to protect or capture.  These are marked with pennies.

The Game.  For once I won the toss and took the Snowmen.  Tony's placed on table.

Jack zooms in , tries a trip which fails.

Gets a swordsman's attention.  Even with belated help, he goes under and slips away.

Initiative seized on death, a spearman arrives.

His carrot is crunched.  Is it me or are these games just a tad more vicious than normal.  Swordsman get his long distance.

Future Santa moves up in a non gender specific way.

I attempt to advance.

Countered.

Taking advantage of ground, hatchet leaps!

Failure, oh no, another spear!

Knife comes to hatchets aid.

A free for all develops.

Future Santa throws down Knife.

Meanstwhile, just around the corner-.

Sneaking biscuit.

Hatchet puts the sword down.  Now he must face Future Santa.

Kane arrives too late, he's toasted.

Blunderbuss behind me!

Kane despite the high ground goes down!

The Gingerbreads hold all the objectives and I'm done.

Game 2  I lose the toss, so Gingerbreads are defending again.

"Oi, you can't come in 'ere!"

Future Santa dashes in.

Rumble!  Saucepan blinks, which doesn't help Kane-.

In leaps Jack, pushing Santa around!

Leaving Axe to hold the pass.

Sword come in and puts snowflake Jack down, but he kicks out in a hissy fit.

Future Santa is in revenge mode.

Clash of the leaders.

Jacks down!

But Axe succumbs to an electric blast.

Sword takes on the sinister saucepan.

Santa!  Look out he's behind you!

Zapped then stabbed!  That's not nice!

Never have we had a game where the defender is right up to the attackers base line.

Saucepan gets dented.

Now I have to get in close before their electrickery gets going.

Knife gets the "nee nee nee" axe treatment.

Hatchet, he's got a mean look-.

Blunderbuss takes a long shot that misses.

Kane is looking mean, that carrot is starting to glow---.

Zap!  Dead!

Sword surrounded, zapped and stabbed!

Snowmen down to 2, Gingers 3.  The hunt is on-.

Both snowmen concentrate on Blunderbuss before he can reload.

Kane takes on the 2 spear all the way down the table.

One down, then the other!

Resources claimed.

The last one staggers up and succumbs to sleeting electrickery!

Wow, short, sharp and vicious games!  Mostly melee weapons does give a different game.

RS The Xmas War of 2018

All of you will remember the terrible short civil war of December 2018.  It all started because of the deficit reduction real estate sales:  California and New Mexico in exchange for the building the wall.  Alaska to Russia (for twice the original price, the real deal) plus Puerto Rico and Hawaii to Saudi Arabia.   

The first phase, waves of over-armed citizens trying to ethnically cleanse their own office/school, street, town, county led to over 50% drop in population overnight.  By the end of the holiday only small, isolated and "ethnically pure" groups survived.  Many tried to get through the southern border wall, but only those of Spanish Catholic descent were allowed through.  The rest, bombed, machine gunned and gassed, ripped apart by citizen border patrols just piled up deeper and deeper.  To the North the great lakes became clogged with bodies and burning boats.

Two of the great Eastern powers saw their chance.  First they rearmed the survivors with obsolete weapons and televised the staged battles of the Proxy War.  When those human assets ran out they started manufacturing Autonomous Robotic Specialist Entities to continue the fight.  As a further cost cutting exercise, both established huge coastal factories to produce both the robots and the merchandising for sale worldwide.  Got to collect them all!

There are a million stories from these conflicts.  This is one plus the re-run.

The Game.  This central base is the target.  I got the Gingerbreads and defending.

You might recognise this as nicked from a certain TV programme.  Supposed to be 28mm, worked perfectly in 6mm and good for 15mm.

When reaction meets action.

Shooting in support, a miss.

A clash! 

She's down!  Elfless is, well, elf-less.

Hitting the nostalgia trail with this one-.

In one, two, three, out one, two, three-.

Gutted. Gold is topped and shredded.  Ripped and torn.

Still guarding.

Another clash of mini titans.

An exchange but no result.

20:1 is a gruesome wipeout. Sliced, diced, buttered and creamed.

Some leader, Future Santa does a runner in panic.

Blunderbus steps up to the mark, blows one to crumbs then does a runner-.

The parcels start to envelope the stationary Ginger Breads.

Future Santa regains his mojo, but loses it to a sleet of lead.

A quick charge and another parcel is franked!  This game is- brutal.

Blunderbus roars and there's wrapping shed n shred.

That leaves one polearm packing parcel vs 2 ginger.  Time to depart post haste.

Game 2 - A cluster of parcels?  Pile?  A happy? Sack?

The ginger gladiators proceed with caution-.

Teamwork.

An opportune dash-.

Dramatic dice rolling.  Oh no, a reaction and the gun burps its song of death and destruction.  The chips are down and the crumbs fly!

But 2 can play at that game, a blunderbus bangs!

Stay in cover lad-.

And another mown down like so much confectionery.

Hiding-.

Parcel Force looking strong.

Spear dashes in where others fear to tread.

And pays the price.  No hanging about here, is there!

Sword suffers same fate.

That just leaves Future Santa who realises that if he's not careful there's going to be a lot of disappointed kids-.

Multiple characters legging it.  So many quick deaths.  A change from the norm!
