Xenos/Dragon Rampant Leonid force from Alternative Armies



A Pride.  12 models ideal for Dragon Rampant.  Separate out the shooters for 8 - Bast's army for Of Gods And Mortals.  Each of these has a letter bead for Rogue Stars.

Xenos Rampant 2 teams (packs?) of 5 plus an inferior recon.


Upgrading my Leonid/Bast army for Xenos and Dragon Rampant.

The only non AA units are the (now OOP) lion pride from Battle Valor and a mix of lionesque humans from both Battle Valor and Magister Militum.

I have normal Egyptian infantry from Peter Pig that could be finished.  Honest.  No, I really mean it! 

When this range came out I ordered one of everything.  Most got painted and used.  But now I want them for my Time Wars campaign.

Brief overview:

The Recon troops have the biggest upgrade.  Pack of crystal bikes (3)  to convert.

3 packs of single bikes to make dismounted recon, snipers/anti snipers.  Plus 2 of each rifle armed and cannon crew.  

3 packs of female hunters and male pack leaders to make infantry units, about 12 in all.

Males to add to GZG sleds as weapon operators.  Or not, I cannot make my mind up!  There's supposed to be more to include vehicles.

A quick note on basing & organisation.  Big stuff on 2p's and regular 1p's.  Doubles on 2p's for gun crew, specialists such as command and recon.  One double removed per 2 casualties.

Dr Who Time Wars on Earth. Boldly going there and back again.


Oh my gossips, here we go trying to get a sort of campaign up and running early 2026.  Background is the Dalek vs Timelords war, in particular the bits that happened on Earth and her colonies between a Mythic Egypt to post Movellan plague.  The aims are manifold:

Get projects finished (enough) and sorted for Xenos Rampant and Rogue stars. 

Come up with interesting and diverse games.

Methodology is - different.  I'm using a snakes and ladders game to "plot" wormholes.  

Some of the participants use time travel.  Others can be transported or simply have long lasting civilisations and multi-generation plots.

The Participants.

1st game.  Star Lords - want to repossess the Earth/Egyptian Stargate.  (Stargate) 

Children of Bast.  Huge mutated lions with strange technology from lost Lumuria.  They are tasked by the Goddess to protect the gate.  She might make an appearance--.


Daleks.  Like humans, they have gone through several phases in their social and technological

development:


Early (Skaro) Period.  During their scouting and exploration period they discovered Earth in the

Primitive period.  They were the first to realise that humans had the capacity to equal their own

drive for domination but with far more experience in warfare.  The scouts also discovered the

existence of the Stargate and its possible location.

In this timeline the gate had been buried deep in the desert, to be found and moved to the British Museum in London.  The intervention of the Time Lords caused the gate to be buried deep into granite and used as the base for an ornamental fountain at the entrance of a large country estate.

Daleks had no time travel and only limited hyperdive.  The most advanced  saucer was dispatched to subdue the Earth.

One small fleet from the Dalek science faction had established a base in a hidden city on the planet Kemble.  Here they work on captured Movellan technology which includes the hyper drive with its crude time dilating ability.

The faction that emerges to initiate the Time War adopts the high mobility walker travel machine. The enlarged surface area allows for an upgraded weapons system that does not cook the Dalek mutant in its containment unit.





Ixx an Elder race whose scouting parties discovered and realised the human potential to become a galactic threat.  They keep a mining and monitoring station on Pluto.  They like pets, having "gone through" to bioengineering.  Babylon 5 and Starship Troopers.  Brigade Models bio range.  https://starshiptroopers.fandom.com/wiki/Pluto_Campaign



Movellans.  A race of mechanical beings who have limited free will and survived the (presumed) extinction of their originators.

A ship recovered and revived a Dalek scout, who promptly exterminated the crew.  This set into motion a series of events that included the construction of combat forms.  Once “out of the box” these aggressive* forms will seek to justify their continual activation.


Using the dead Dalek as a sample, a selective plague was developed and released.


More by accident than design, their advanced warp drive has a limited time travel capability.


The Daleks attempting to conceal a stash of the plague on Earth has brought the planet to their notice.


*Standard forms are quite capable of exterminating all life on a planet to solve a simple problem.

That's the industrial age humans. Some from diverse races, but most UN ground forces that will include a later version of UNIT and maybe, just maybe an early 70's version


UNSC Brief

"Good morning, I'll keep this brief as the download package will be uploaded later today.

We find ourselves in the middle of a war, a time war no less, between the Daleks and the race known to us as the Time Lords.

Information on why humanity is being targeted by the Daleks has come to light. 

The Time Lords have made approximately 15 attempts to alter or influence the initial Dalek development from an artificially mutated form from humanoids on the planet Skaro.

The first (we think) attempt was an absolute disaster.  The very first generation of Daleks learned that aliens existed, an alliance of 2 humanoid races (later identified as Time lord and Human) had attempted to exterminate them.  Both time and space travel was possible.

One attempt has been made to wipe the Time Lords ancestors.  Ours might be next.

We have no choice but to be on the Time Lord's side.  But we do not wish to be a mere client race.  There are others out there.  Some younger, some very, very old.
