Song of Blades and Heroes Rumbling in the Municipal District. Not Conan. Honest.

 

New scenery!  I spent a bit too long finishing it, so planning for this game was just-in-time.

As you've seen from my previous post all these are from Terrain 4 Games.  Note the set covers a 3x3 table quite nicely.  

Quick note on figures.

The locals are a mix of Museum Miniatures https://www.museumminiatures.co.uk/arab-hordes-female.html

I'm hoping more of this range gets upgraded like this one:  https://www.museumminiatures.co.uk/indian-arab-hordes.html

I THINK  Mek Mek comes from Battle Valor but I'm not sure.  The obelisk is a piece of 32mm scenery from the Gods of Agyptus. But you could use one of the officers.

BTW, I added fine sand to the bases then realised I couldn't find me hairspray--.

Game 1 Mek Mek.  Hound.  134.  8 Warriors 120 = 254


Vs She 76.  4 Guards 84.  8 Dirka  88  = 248 Problem with this force - no leader so all individual activations.


NEVER have we had a night of so many initiative swaps! 



My Dirka's use reactions to trickle around the corner.


Hound bounds up and makes the first kill.


At last Mek Mek gets a decent roll and the infantry surge forward.



A grisly death sends mine running.




She rushes forward starting a rally, but the hound--



Here come the more organised infantry to dash against my frail line.



The hound dashes into my poor Dirka's



A good but confused melee, but the hound has opened the way for the infantry to poor through.



One guard does a good job of holding off, even pushing back Mek Mek.


The attackers have a line but I'm all spread out.


She's turn to give a gory death, the attack stalls.


The advance line has dispersed.



The attackers regroup, dead on the roof look on. 


They attack!



Another gory death sends the defenders reeling.




Game 2 

Quick change of scenery:

Bru Han &  She 202.  2 Guards & 1 Dirka  52 =  252



Mek Mek  92.  4 hounds 168 = 260


Tony forms a line & sends the sneaky Dirka to hide on the flank.



Here they come!


The Dirka charges Mek Mek but gets repulsed.


She charges a hound and it's repulsed.


The rest charge in!


Not what I needed!


She goes down to a hound!


So does he!  Not to be outdone.  Loss of leader causes morale--


A guard goes down to a free hack as he tries to retire.


Now the hounds speed comes to the fore.

Game 3  Mek Mek 2 Hounds 174  5 Warriors 75 259


Vs Bru Han.  4 Guards 84.  4 Dirka  44  = 254

Once again a quick change:




Quandary - let them through, defend or break up?
 


A Dirka dashes through and kills a warrior!


So my plan was to let slip the dogs of war through the gate to sew chaos.  Doggy stopped and pushed back!



First a Dirka goes down - then a hound!




Guards burst through the Dirka line.


They meet with initial success, even knocking Mek Mek down!



A guard is down, but the big fella steps up.



Mek Mek strikes a guard down, a grisly death so morale-.



The guard strikes down his foe.


Now the invaders charge in, taking down the next to last guard.


Both sides regroup.




The brute dashes in and strikes down a warrior - gory death, it's the invaders turn to scatter!




Another regroup.


A dessert standoff.  Looking through slitted eyes, building musical tension.


Rats,


More rats.


Oh come on!


Bodies everywhere & leaders face off.


Mek Mek is dead!  It's all over--.
